Character In LEAD - Love

Updated: Jun 22, 2022

I introduce to you our Character in LEAD, Dimple Dhabalia. Dimple has a Doctor in Law, in International Law and Human Rights, is also the proud owner of her own venture “Roots in the Clouds”. Simply put, she is an inspirational individual. She is giving, calm, selfless, joyful and she makes all this seem so easy. What’s her secret? She leads a life full of mindfulness and connections. A life full of expressions of LOVE, coming from within.

Dimple’s own personal inspiration, is instilled from her mother. She describes her as, a woman of quiet strength, grace and unconditional love and giving, despite all the difficulties she encountered in life’s situations and stages.

Dimple’s professional inspiration comes from all the individuals she interacts with in her line of work, who have always placed serving others at the forefront of their lifestyle. Selfless, mission driven and serving those in need every single day. She’s practiced this type of work a lot by being in the field as a Human Rights professional.

There’s a great self-awareness trait prominent in Dimple’s interactions. Her focus on connection and being in the present moment allow her to show empathy and courage in handling barriers that, at times, exist in human interactions. She is grounded in what is natural and authentic. As such, this shows up naturally not only in her human interactions but also in her joyfulness when she is around water, oceans, rivers and lakes. She recognizes how small we are compared to the natural dynamics of this world. Even then, she is seeing the bigger picture, she is displaying a notion of connecting to the natural world by acknowledging its power and vastness, and setting intentions out in the Universe.

She believes, that every day is a new chance to set intentions and lead the day knowing that time is a gift. As each morning starts, Dimple recognizes that it is an opportunity for renewal, and an opportunity for self-care yet not self-indulgence. As form of self-care, Dimple likes leisurely walks and intentional solitude. She recognizes that taking time to have no plans, and or relaxing, meeting up with friends for a long conversational dinner, gives us the opportunity to listen to the needs of our body and to nurture it so that it functions optimally and allows us to experience work life balance integration.

Dimple is the founder of “Roots in the Clouds”. True to character, she started the business from a place of LOVE. “Roots in the Clouds”, offers workshops, guides, coaching, and is a resource for travel experiences and recipes from various cultural backgrounds. Her clients are Global Humanitarians, who experience a loss of purpose in the profession. She helps them get back to their core purpose and live a healthy meaningful life so they can continue to be truly empathetic in serving others and not experience burnout.

The base of “Roots in the Clouds” comes from using food as a connector. Dimple offers resources and stories in her blog and website, gathered throughout her Human Rights duties. She’s witnessed the amazing silent language happening when one individual gives their meal to a child, without knowing where her own next meal will come from. At her core, she knows that sharing food, art and travel is an expression of love.

Another foundation of “Roots in the Clouds” is travel experiences and photography, Dimple reveals that her greatest personal accomplishment is a solo photography exhibit in Athens, Greece a few years back, where she compiled a photo essay depicting the stark beauty of the Mani region.

“Roots in the Clouds” offerings are tools through which we see the expressions of love that Dimple creates. She has traveled the world, she has met, experienced and witnessed hurtful experiences, through all of which, she’s learned that hurt happens because we love, and love surfaces in its fullest, selfless form when we are hurt.

“Love has no other desire but to fulfil itself.

But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:

To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.

To know pain of too much tenderness.

To be wounded by your own understanding of love;

And to bleed willingly and joyfully.

To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;

To rest at noon hour and meditate love’s ecstasy;

To return home at eventide with gratitude;

And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips.”

The Prophet - Kahlil Gibran

Roots in the Cloud has obstacles. Societal obstacles. These obstacles show prominently in life and in our world today. We have developed strong barriers to human connection nowadays fronted by social media, non-authentic interactions and intensity for outwardly materialistic rewards. Founded on the basis of connection, Roots in the Clouds, aspires to re-establish human connection by explaining, pointing out and emphasizing that true human connection happens during a meal, through a masterful piece of expressive art, a simple photo and a kind gesture, a smile, laughter, proper intention, authenticity and definitely through joys of road trips. This is the manifestation of connection.

We all know that at the point of our fingers, social media connections offers us the option to unfriend, unlike and unfollow. Whereas the teachings done through the “Roots in the Clouds” service offerings, and the methods mentioned earlier are connecting experiences impressed upon the heart, that cannot be unfriended, unliked and unfollowed. Good or bad connecting experiences, they actually become a part of us, and therefore allow us to form a certain tolerance and resilience and empathy towards others rooted from within.

“Resilience is rooted in human connection, which is fundamental to our overall well-being. “

Dimple Dhabalia

By establishing a new venture such as the one she has started, Dimple believes that naturally, humans are kind and empathetic and she remains hopeful that as humans we will move away from materialistic possessions and towards building quality connections and meaningful experiences.

“Roots in the Clouds”recently hosted an intention-setting workshop through art. While the women gathered were there to be vulnerable, authentic and creative, what they experienced was the same exact experiences Dimple took to establish this exciting venture. Individuals walked away with a clear sense of their own personal intentions for the new year. This is the type of impressionable experiences Dimple offers through her work at “Roots in the Clouds”.

When you meet Dimple, you cannot help but to connect and think that you did the work. In truth, Dimple is natural at it. What’s truly within comes out. Throughout her career, Dimple has witnessed and known the pain of too much tenderness, and has seen enough of this world to understand the true meaning of love, and what lies within is what shows on the outside and that true love starts with self-love and no self-judgement. She shows it all in gratitude and connections.

We are featuring Dimple Dhabalia for LOVE. I hope you will meet Dimple one day, as I know you will LOVE her. I speak from experience.

Stay True to Character Dimple.

With Love

Vina
